Every one of us has an aversion to change, because we have an aversion to loss. Staying where we are may not give us what we want, but every change brings about the possibility of a consequence we’d much rather avoid. ⁣ ⁣ It’s commomly believed that we regret the decisions we neglect to make rather than the consequences of decisions we’ve made. ⁣ ⁣ In an article published in Scientific American decades ago (issue 246, pp. 160-73), noble laureates Kahneman and Tversky suggest this might not be the case. For many, indecision persists, because it is the safest option. ⁣ ⁣ In order to decide its critical to not only determine what we want, but why we want it. ⁣ ⁣ What values does this change support? ⁣ ⁣ Who and what do we care about most, that will be positively affected by our change? ⁣ ⁣ How can indecision make us worse off in the future than not taking action? https://www.instagram.com/p/BprjNgTg-CW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1fqbpzze9ndom
